ICC Redefines Low-Carbon Logistics and Supply Chain Transformation at Mercedes-Benz.
The International Consolidation Centre (ICC) is a state-of-the-art, build-to-suit logistics hub developed by KPE for Mercedes-Benz AG. Comprising four large-scale warehouses, it consolidates multiple smaller sites into a single, highly efficient operation, enhancing supply chain performance while delivering future-proof environmental and economic benefits.
Completed in 2025 on a 200,000 sq m brownfield site, the ICC serves as the primary hub for Mercedes-Benz’s Western European supplier network. The facility features advanced infrastructure, including high-speed loading tunnels, a private rail connection, and flexible workspaces designed to support efficiency and employee wellbeing.
Located in Bischweier near key Mercedes-Benz plants, the site benefits from direct motorway and rail access, enabling seamless multimodal transport. It has created around 500 on-site jobs and supports a further 7,000 across the supply chain.
Sustainability is central to the development, with the strategic consolidation reducing truck travel by 18.9 million kilometres annually and CO₂ emissions by an estimated 16.5 million tonnes. The hub features an 80,000 sq m photovoltaic system (up to 9 MWp), fossil-free heating, LED lighting and e-charging infrastructure, alongside green roofs, façade planting and rainwater reuse. Supported by responsible material reuse, the project has achieved DGNB Platinum certification, the highest rating in Germany.
Delivered just over a year after groundbreaking, the ICC sets a benchmark for sustainable logistics. In 2026, KPE formed a joint venture with a US investor to own and manage the asset, with KPE retaining an ownership position and acting as long-term asset manager.
