Central London witnessed an impressive feat of engineering as Kajima Properties Europe (KPE) installed a Raptor 85 tower crane at 16 Berners Street. This complex operation, carried out in partnership with Curo Construction Ltd and City Lifting Limited, showcased precision planning and safe execution in one of the city’s busiest areas.
But the story doesn’t end with the lift. KPE’s approach to this project goes beyond engineering excellence, it’s about sustainability. By retaining a substanial portion of the building’s original structure, the team is saving up to 907 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent, proving that bold construction can also be low-carbon.
This project reflects a growing trend in urban development: combining cutting-edge technology with environmental responsibility. For 16 Berners Street, innovation isn’t just about building higher, it’s about building smarter.
