KPE has completed the installation of a Raptor 85 tower crane at 16 Berners Street in Central London, marking a key milestone in the project’s delivery.

Delivered in partnership with City Lifting Limited, the operation required meticulous planning and precise execution, particularly given the constraints of one of the capital’s busiest urban environments.

Beyond the complexity of the crane installation, the project highlights KPE’s broader commitment to sustainable development. By retaining a substantial portion of the building’s existing structure, the scheme is expected to save up to 907 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent, demonstrating how major construction projects can actively reduce their environmental impact.

The redevelopment of 16 Berners Street reflects a wider shift in urban construction, where innovation is paired with environmental responsibility.

For KPE, the project is not only about delivering engineering excellence, but also about setting a benchmark for smarter, lower-carbon building practices in central London.
